"Honor to the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country’s cause." – Abraham Lincoln
With Veterans Day approaching on November 11, we compiled several simple ways we can show appreciation for the veterans in our lives and community.
At Backyard Realty Group, a proudly veteran-owned company by Mike Tolley who served in the Navy where one of our dedicated community managers Michael Degrauwe also served in the Navy, we recognize deeply the contributions and sacrifices our veterans have made for our country and thank them for their love and service. Whether through a small gesture or a more involved effort, taking the time to honor those who served makes a meaningful impact.
This Veteran’s Day 2024, to make it easier to contribute locally, we’ve gathered a list of organizations in Metro Atlanta that help veterans. Here’s how they’re making a difference and how you can get involved:
1. Soldiers' Angels – This organization assists veterans by providing monthly food assistance. Volunteers help pack grocery bags to ensure veterans and their families have access to nutritious food. Learn more about them here.
2. Atlanta Community Food Bank - This organization offers food assistance to individuals and families in need through various food pantries and community partners. You can volunteer or donate to help fight hunger in Atlanta. Visit their site here.
